When thinking about train stations the first thoughts that come to mind are rush, stress, long corridors and tunnels... usually not a pleasant experience.
SNCB-Holding had made a strong effort to bring life into the stations and transform them into fun and convivial meeting points with supermarkets, boutiques, press shops and restaurants, allowing train users to save time and have an enjoyable experience. A new identity was promptly needed to reflect all this energy and identify 37 main national stations under the name ‘la Gare - het Station’. Hoet&Hoet made field trips and visited stations to get a real perspective of the identity project. We listened to users’ needs and talked to various employees, station managers and architects to find the solution for the ‘ideal train station’.
Hoet&Hoet’s solution is friendly and colorful... a clear reflection of what was already happening in the stations. It conveys ideas of protection, a bridge to the city, a meeting point,... It is a new place that is open to the city and welcomes thousands of daily travellers and visitors.
